Spring is in the air - time for cleaning...even in the classroom. The children have helped us clean and reorganize this week. They are also doing a great job maintaining our new space. As a TREAT, the children were sent home with cotton candy today (we don't usually promote SUGAR, but, Ms. Riley's friend is in the cotton candy business and donated the candy to the class). Children were instructed not to open the candy until they got their parents' permission. Friends who were away today will receive their treat on Monday.
In the spirit of spring, the children have decided to open a Flower Shop in our drama centre. We will be learning about money, reading a variety of materials, planting seeds, etc. as we branch this new interest into all curriculum areas.
We continue to remind the children the importance or reducing, reusing and recycling; if you have any items at home that could be used in our craft centre/flower shop, we would greatly appreciate your donations.
