While the Advent season is upon us and with Christmas around the corner, we are letting our bird inquiry head south for the winter and we are beginning to prepare ourselves and our hearts for this wonderful time of year.
During this season of giving, St Gabriel school will be involved in an Advent project to help families in need. Each class will prepare a "hamper" for a family within our greater community. This week, you will receive a note explaining this effort in more detail. You will be invited to donate a specific item(s) as we have all received a list of items needed by the families. (If you should choose to do so). The note will also offer other ideas in case you wish to help further.
SAVE THE DATE:
Next Friday, December 14th at 11:45am, you are all invited to join us for our school-wide Advent mass. Our class and Mrs. Green / Mrs. Parnell's class will sing a song during the liturgy. A light snack will be provided in the classroom afterward. Stay tuned for a personalized invitation which will arrive shortly.
JUST A FEW MORE THINGS:
- Some quiet time blankets are still missing. Please send in asap.
- Bake sale: This Friday, December 7th, there will be a charity bake sale here in the school foyer. All proceeds will be added to our Advent project described above. The children will have an opportunity to buy a treat before our second nutrition break. Item prices will range from 0.25 to $1.00. If you choose to send some money in with your child, please ensure that it is in a labelled bag or envelope.
