Dear Kindergarten Parents,
As many of you have likely already heard from your little one(s), we’ve been gathering data from the children on the creation of a St. Gabriel Kindergarten ‘Kinder Garden’. The children have provided us with bountiful information and ideas regarding location, design elements, and plants (both veggies/fruits and flowers) that they would like to grow; and we would like to ‘break ground’ as soon as possible.
Each kindergarten class will be starting seeds/seedlings within class this week (each class a different item that we will be able to harvest and share amongst the classes hopefully either a) before the end of June, and/or b) in the fall.)
We are looking for parent volunteers to join us on Saturday June 8th @ 9:00 am to help break ground, haul soil, transfer our seedlings, etc. If you are able to join us and you have gardening tools and equipment that you are willing to bring we would certainly appreciate it (ie. shovels; wheelbarrows; rakes; watering cans/buckets, rototiller, etc.). We will also be looking for volunteers to help us care for the Kinder Garden over the summer months (watering/weeding).
We would also like to thank the Green Team and the Parent Council for their generous financial contributions that have enabled us to go forward with our plans.
If you are available and interested in joining us in the ‘building’ of the Kinder Garden and/or in the care of the garden over the summer please return the bottom of this form with your child as soon as possible. You will be contacted via email as confirmation that your help is still required should you return the bottom of the form indicating your interest in helping out.
