As the children
delve deeper into our latest projects on all things creepy crawly, we thought
we’d take the opportunity to share a community ‘event’ inadvertently discovered
this week. Orkin Canada-yep, the bug exterminator company-has a free exhibition
taking place at the St Laurent Shopping Centre until Saturday. (Is this a case
of keeping your enemies closer?) Feel free to take in the event and/or visit
their website for more information. http://www.orkincanada.ca/en-ca/news/articles/incredible-world-of-bugs
In related news,
the children have also been exploring through their dramatic play: concepts of
boating, water skiing, fishing, and other summer/camping type activities. We
are looking for a MINIATURE tent to transform our dramatic play area into a Cottage/Camping
zone as we prepare for our summer vacation time. If you are able to lend us a small tent, or other items
suitable for this type of play, please send in a note in your child’s mail
folder, and we’ll coordinate further with you.
June News: As Kindergarten is a two-year program, we will be inviting the Daddies to come celebrate Father’s Day
next year. That way, by the time your child has completed both JK and SK at St.
Gabriel, each parent will have had an opportunity to be the guest of honour for
a special celebration. Daddies, please keep your eyes peeled for a special hand-made gift coming your way.
Enjoy your weekend!!
