Our fun Spring has Sprung week has come to an end. The children enjoyed various activities and are now anxiously awaiting the true arrival of Spring (as we are all, right?)
As for classroom activities, the children are busy creating more class books that they will each be taking turns to bring home and read to you. They are very proud of their work, as they should be!
Also in the spotlight this week - paper airplanes! Some of you have probably heard about them, or seen them flying around your own house...we are exploring how to make airplanes so that they fly successfully when the children compete to see which ones fly the furthest. We have also been measuring (using a variety of non-standard units of measurement, such as footsteps, and exploring the use of rulers and meter sticks) and charting these distances.
Feel free to share your tips or even a 'how to' book on airplane-making should you be interested!
You may also have been recruited to play a new game we introduced to the children several weeks ago. The Counting Game has become a big hit, and we`ve observed the children playing during snack time and while dressing in their cubbies even. Please ask them to play with you and your family at home as they hone their strategy down.
The school Milk Bag recycling program has now ended. We`d like to thank you for participating in this environmental endeavor. We`ll be exploring and revisiting other various environmental initiatives in the coming months. Stay tuned!
Also, with Easter fast approaching next weekend, the children will be reflecting on the miracle of Jesus`resurrection. We`ll be working on a variety of crafts representing new life as we tie in religion and springtime.
Have a fabulous weekend!!
