Valentine's Day Fever

With February's arrival the children are beginning to show their interest and excitement in Valentine's Day. What a great way for us to explore the message, 'Love Thy Neighbour'; being a good friend; appropriate ways to show our affection; building prosocial relationships; promoting positive social and emotional development; etc.

We worked in small groups to think of (and figure out how to write) Valentine's 'love messages':

We did some brainstorming this afternoon:

NOTE:
The children have been given some 'homework', to discuss which pretend play idea they prefer, why, and HOW their idea would work/what would it be like?
The choices are (in case you can't read the tiny writing):
  • Chocolate Store
  • Restaurant
  • Valentine's Day Store (selling candy, stuffed toys, flowers, etc.)
  • Post Office (mail carrier; selling cards, postcards, 'stamps'/stickers)
  • Party Store
  • Bakery

We will vote on Monday to determine our new Drama Centre.

Have a nice week-end! To our lil' ones who have been ill this past week-we hope you rest up and feel better!
Mme. Christine & Ms. Riley

As requested by Miss H, please find the link below to a popular class website the children like to access on the Smartboard. She thought her classmates would enjoy playing at home too.
